This is the home page of Garry Platt. I am an amber
collector living and working in the United Kingdom. I have been inspired and intrigued by
amber and its unique qualities since childhood. I have studied amber in detail and read
and collected most of the major and minor published works written in English relating to
this gem. |
Some visitors to this page may
have read the few pieces I have already published on this subject. Whenever they are
circulated on the Internet they produce a flurry of correspondence. There are obviously
plenty of people interested in learning more about amber. Amber has always held a deep
fascination for people since the earliest prehistoric times up until the present day. We
can learn so much through its geological occurrences, the inclusions trapped within it,
and its role in human and mythical history.
There already exist some excellent educational as well as commercial web sites that
have amber as their central theme, to these I add my own web site dedicated to my hobby
and my passion..
